Quarter 2- Blog Post #10- New Moon

New Moon
Stephanie Meyer

I finally finished New Moon, and I loved it! For some reason, I liked it better than Twilight, even though bad things happen, like Edward breaking up with Bella. The book ends with a cliffhanger, so I am very excited to start Eclipse. What happens in the end is that Jacob drops off both of the motorcycles, so that she will get grounded and will have to spend less time with Edward. He does this without knowing that Bella is already grounded. When Bella goes to see Jacob for the first time in a while, Edward comes also and Jacob reminds him of the treaty and that if he ever bites a human, the treaty is broken. Bella did not know this, so was very surprised. I wonder if Edward will turn Bella into a vampire still, and Bella will still want that, knowing that the treaty might be broken. Another dilemma is that Victoria is still on the loose, so I don’t quite know what will be happening with that in the next book. I also wonder what Bella’s punishment will be for the motorcycles, because she already knows that Charlie will be extremely angry. I hope that Jacob will remain friends with Bella even though all of this has happened, and Edward is here to stay. So much happened in this book and it was very interesting and intriguing to read about. New Moon was an amazing book and I really recommend, but read Twilight first!

Quarter 2- Blog Post #9- New Moon

New Moon is so good and I am almost finished! I have about 40 pages left and I really want to finish but I just haven’t had a chance. Since Bella has arrived home, she has spent a lot of time sleeping and with Edward. As soon as she got home though, Charlie started yelling at her and Edward for just leaving like that and now Charlie claims that Edward isn’t allowed on their property. Bella hasn’t really talked to her dad since she has come home because she has slept, but she is preparing for the worst. Once Bella woke up, Edward was in her room and she thought she was dreaming. Things were too good for Bella that she didn’t think that they could possibly be happening to her. She also was afraid of waking up and the “hole in her heart” being torn farther open. Edward tries to convince her that she is not sleeping. They talk for a while and Edward promises never to leave Bella again and it was a big mistake on his part. He was doing it to protect her and he admitted that he lied to her when he said that he no longer loved her. Bella was so surprised when she heard this and relieved at the same time. It is sad to me that Edward had to lie about that on top of leaving her because it made the whole experience more difficult. Bella decides that she wants to get the Cullen’s opinions on her converting to a vampire. I am very excited to see what they think and if Edward will agree with them. Bella is very eager to become a vampire but I want to see how it works out.

Quarter 2- Blog Post #8- New Moon

New Moon

New Moon continues to get better! I have read so much over break and I absolutely love it! So much has happened. So far, Bella has found out that Jacob is a werewolf and she doesn’t mind, but he has acted very weird and not very friendly at first. He has become apart of “Sam’s gang.” He wasn’t calling her back for about two weeks and then she finally figured out everything, like he was a werewolf and why he wasn’t calling her. Now that Bella knows everything, he is acting himself around her again and he is protecting her from Victoria, who is trying to find her and kill her. So much is going on and Bella decides to jump off a cliff for the thrill. She starts drowning but Jacob comes and saves her. Alice has a vision of Bella jumping off the cliff so she immediately goes to see her even though she knows that it is too late. Bella survives, thanks to Jacob, and Alice comes to see her. One big problem about Bella being friends with Jacob is that werewolves are vampire’s biggest enemies so Alice and Jacob do not get along at all. Because Alice thought Bella would die when she jumped, Edward found out that she was dead so he decided to go and ask the Volturi to kill him. Bella and Alice had to fly to him and prove that Bella was alive so that he wouldn’t die. They get to him just in time but the Volturi tells Edward that Bella will be killed unless they turn her into a vampire. It is a good thing though that Bella wants to become a vampire and Edward is that only one that doesn’t want her to. He now has no choice about it. The whole story is so intense and I can’t wait to see how it ends!

Quarter 2- Blog Post #7- New Moon

New Moon is getting so good! Bella is healing and become more “alive” and aware what is going on around her. I am so glad that she is becoming such good friends with Jacob Black and that they are really bonding as friends. She has really turned her life around and hasn’t been so down in the dumps. She still thinks about Edward and gets really sad about him but is able to move on and enjoy her time with Jacob. He is a really positive influence in her life and has helped her tremendously. It all started with Bella getting two broken motorcycles to be rebellious and breaking promises to make herself feel better. She went to Jacob to see if he could fix them and teach how her to ride them. In exchange, she gave him one and she spent a lot of time with him while her worked on them. One of the main reasons for being rebellious was to figure out how to hear the voice in her head that she heard in Port Angeles with Jessica. She found out that adrenaline is what made her hear it. While Jacob was teaching her to ride, she would purposely do stupid stunts so that she could hear the voice. When she went to school, she noticed so much more about everyone, but people weren’t really noticing her except for Mike and Angela, who were acting like true friends. I just hope that Bella doesn’t do anything really stupid and thoughtless just to hear the voice. I also hope that she doesn’t go into depression mode again and she continues to spend time with Jacob.

Quarter 2- Blog Post #6- New Moon

New Moon is getting so intense and kind of sad because of what happened. Edward left Bella because he says that him and his family need to move on. He also says that she can’t come with him and that he is sorry for having their relationship to even had started. After this happens, Bella goes into a depression mode for the next couple of months. Charlie gets very worried about Bella and thinks that it might be a good idea for her to go and live with her mom but she refuses and wants to stay in Forks and finish high school. To get Charlie off her back, Bella goes to a movie with Jessica. Jessica is kind of mad at Bella though for ignoring her and not being very friendly but the only reason that Bella is acting like this is because she misses Edward. I really hope that Edward will come back sometime and apologize for leaving her. It is also sad that Alice is also gone because she doesn’t really have a close girl friend to talk to anymore. I wish that since Edward left, he could have at least taken Bella with him. I think that it kind of shows that he doesn’t really care about her and doesn’t love her as much as it seemed in Twilight. So far though, I like New Moon more than Twilight because there is more action and it is more exciting. All that I hope for is a good outcome and that Edward will come back for Bella soon.

Quarter 2- Blog Post #5- New Moon

New Moon

New Moon is continuing to get better as I dive into it more. Ever since Bella’s birthday, Edward has been acting really strange and it is kind of bugging me, along with Bella. It is sad that Jasper was sent away and that Alice went with him, but I guess it is for the better since he could have been harmful. I wonder when they will come home though and exactly where Jasper will be going fir the time being. I really want to know why Edward is acting so weird and I am hoping that Bella will ask. You can really feel the whole mood of the book changing because of Edward’s attitude. I feel like Edward knows something bad is going to happen or he is just really angry but doesn’t want to tell Bella why. I do really think that something bad will happen though. The overall setting of the book makes it seem that way. I thought it was very nice of Esme and Carlisle to give Bella that present though. It was something very thoughtful and wasn’t just a thing. I also thought that Edward’s present was very cute because of the fact that he sang her lullaby and recorded it for her. I do wonder what will happen when Bella and Edward go to Jacksonville together though, since Edward can’t be out in the sun without shining. It will be interesting to see how everything turns out with the trip, Edward’s attitude, Jasper and Alice, and Bella and Edward’s relationship.

Is it a good idea for babies to be allowed in the work place?

Armour, Stephanie. "More Companies Let Babies Come to Work." USA Today 30 Mar. 2008. SIRS Researcher. SIRS Knowledge Source. Edina High School, Edina. 6 Dec. 2008 http://www.sirs.com.

The journalist, Stephanie Armour, is a journalist for the newspaper, USA Today who doesn’t really seem to have a point of view on the topic of babies coming to work. Even though she isn’t opinionated, she interviews different people that are, and readers able to see all sides of the story. I think this article is intended for anyone who wants to be informed about workplaces but also parents with babies. Having read this article, parents can learn that it could be a possibility to bring their child to work, depending on where they work. This article is about the opinions of brining babies to work and if it is a distraction or a helpful thing.

Sharples, Tiffany. "Bringing Babies to Work." Time 3 Jan. 2008. Business & Tech. 6 Dec. 2008 http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1699879,00.html.

Tiffany Sharples, a writer for Time Magazine, also wrote an article about bringing babies to work. She talks about it becoming more popular and the different viewpoints on it, just like Armour did except Sharples interviews people with different jobs in the workplace and looks at what they say. I think that this article is intended for anyone that works, because it talks about the different opinions and you could be in the same situation as the one of them. Again though, this article is probably also intended for parents of babies and seeing what others really think about babies coming into the workplace. This article is also about bring babies to work and how it is becoming more popular.
